Her confidence began to grow at the age of nineteen after she took part in a school audition. She received a lot of praise for her singing. In the year 22 she was able to graduate from the Julliard School of New York. In the year 23 she made her debut at the Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot She played the Lady of The Lake and was awarded the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. Following that she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. Alongside being a popular singer, she has released two solo albums and a longer piece. As an activist, she strives in the cause of LGBT equality.
